Medical Information

Your first call is to visit your NHS service provider for any medical issues – namely your local General Practitioner / Local Dentist / Local Pharmacist etc.  A wealth of information is provided on https://www.nhs.uk/. If you are unhappy with your own doctor, you can ask to see another doctor at the same practice or make an appointment with a different practice in your area. If you are unsure where to find other doctor’s surgeries, look in your local Yellow Pages or try the https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/services-near-you/  website.

In case of emergency, Call 111 or 999 for extreme emergencies. You can independently reach out to private practitioners, but the best practice for patients is to be referred for specialist treatment by their GP because they know your medical history and can advise you if a referral is necessary. Also, many private health insurers prefer referrals. Link to list of some health insurers below.
